  • MY NEW COSTLY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

I appreciate that managing my weight and health has never come easily, but I may now have found a way around it, even if an expensive one.

I have begun eliminating sugar and wheat from my diet and am steadily building weekday-morning workouts into my routine, allowing restless energy to be burned off through exercise and redirected to more productive ends.

True, I fell short on the healthy-living front before, but as I said, I’ve got a workaround. I started screenshotting clothes I like, and it turns out I’ve quietly built up a style all my own — one I’m proud of.

So I decided to tie the exploration of my style to my ongoing weight-maintenance journey. I allow myself one cheat day a month, timed to my salary: the weekend after my paycheck lands, I scout out restaurants, shop for something cute, and show up looking my best. The only thing I haven’t worked out is how to catch a guy’s eye on these outings cause ni kama hao hupotea when I’m ready to mingle.

Lakini I remain hopeful that I will meet my person before long, and perhaps then my elder sister will at last give up trying to match me with someone. Until then, I am staying the course with my weight-maintenance journey.

  • TO MY INTENDED

People keep on asking, “Why is a beautiful girl like you single?” Well most of them just want to get in my pants so they don’t count.

The truth is, I have imagined every version of you I can dream up. As an advocate, its only natural I picture you thriving in my field- or in another, whether as an Architect, Pilot, Doctor, or Engineer. Or better yet a wealthy man from a family with powerful international or political ties.

I’ve also been praying for my healing, I don’t want to carry any toxic tendencies rooted in my old traumas and self- reliance into what we’ll have . I am ready for you, but somehow, you remain out of my grasp, and that annoys me a little.

After building a checklist around your education, your empathy and intimacy, and your accountability- and mapping out how to become the best version of myself for you, I chose to let go of the imaginary you

  • DEAR WEIGHT LOSS

Blessed with favorable genetics, I grow more attractive as I gain weight. For every kilogram I add, my genetics guarantee a layer of nyash and belly fat.

However, the “Hey’s” and ” Niaje msupa” I get from prospective suitors cant shake my awareness of my growing belly.

Yearning for a petite size, I started intermittent fasting and accompanying sugar and wheat restrictions shedding off 12 kgs by June 2026. However, at the desired size, every matatu ride becomes an inconvenience. I become invisible to those I sit next to, and they often squeeze me like a poorly folded collar shirt. The assumption that there’s still space despite my visible discomfort amazes me.

This never happens during my plus size era, so my response to this phenomenon includes Instagram recipes , Mama Fatuma’s and Johnte’s evening mtaani aromas, the sweet tooth bakery, ice cream parlors and the snack aisle in Naivas Supermarket .

As a fraction of my former weight looms over me and as I say goodbye to my craving for a petite size, I realize I can’t complain about either choice. And so, with that painful realization, I opt to lodge a complaint against my new imaginary friend Weight loss.

So keeping in mind that weight fluctuations reduce or increase the size of my nyash, I am left wondering: should I lose, maintain (and how?) or add?

  • My Mentors

I am thankful to serve my country and society as an advocate, the work I have done thus far re-establishes my dedication to serving my society and I don’t take the opportunity for granted.

However, I wish to tackle a different industry , the Global Entertainment Industry. I have some ideas on how to leave a bigger legacy, not just for me but for my country and I know that with proper training I will achieve more than I dream I can.

As a start, I managed to score three distinct mentors and shared part of my works. Still waiting on a response and wont lie they are taking longer than I expected but I’m trusting in God’s timing with all I do.

One of the mentors is yet to share to his contacts, but I am content with him knowing of my existence.

I am humbled by the realization that they still reach out and encourage me to express my art. It may be a cliche but I truly believe that learning from the older generations and creating works that inspire the future generations is a better form of empowering my village .

The beauty of my creativity allows me to basically live and thrive in my mind instead of associating with my sane peers. So as I attempt to create lasting friendships and as I await my mentors’ criticism, I dipped into my pocket and created this platform.

  • MY INTRODUCTION TO RESPONSIBILITY

    Hello diary.

I have a bit of trouble introducing myself to the world. They say I shouldn’t care what others think of me, plus I know allowing their feedback is a recipe for disaster but I’m creating a comfortable way to express myself without uttering a word.

I was born in what most would consider “geti kali” and was sheltered from everything under the sun. My dad set aside 10,000.00 for Christmas clothes until I turned 25, and still Mpesa’d me lunch money during my attachments.

When he passed away, I realized that despite his visible parental flaws, he had spoilt me enough to confuse privilege and responsibility.

My siblings equally enabled my privilege but allowing me to ride on their cocktails and imitating their auras enough to lose myself. Of course the privilege came with rules and a dependent relationship that the rising economy conveniently severed.

It took me a while to catch up and today I become a beautiful, single 33 year old advocate with a cultivating aura , to which this idea was birthed. I am learning what works for me, fashion, relationships and hangouts while creating healthy boundaries for my mental health.

So I welcome you to this beautiful journey I call growth and welcome you to the memories I create as I learn me.

    Happy Birthday to me.

  • Hello

    Hello Diary,

I figured that an online diary about me navigating this phenomenon termed life would be fun and interesting. You see I’m trying to reduce the instances I talk to myself or invent and play a stupid game in my head.

It got worse when the building I work introduced restroom keys and I rash there every hour just to cheekily dance in front of the mirror and laugh at myself.

A few disclaimers for my readers, I am an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and no this isn’t a legal advise column, its a therapeutical release for this Christian’s creativity and work stress.

So diary, I begin with a little confession about me in my next piece.
